Markdown & HTML Preview
Type or paste Markdown (GitHub-flavoured: tables, task lists, strikethrough) or HTML and see it rendered below.
About this tool What it's for, how to use it and an example
What it's for
See how Markdown or HTML will look before you use it, and get the HTML that Markdown turns into.
For example, when you’re writing a README, a GitHub comment or notes in Markdown and want to check that the tables, lists and links come out right.
How to use it
Choose Markdown or HTML, then type or paste into Source. The preview updates as you type. Markdown is GitHub-flavoured, so tables, task lists and strikethrough work. Tick Line breaks as <br> to keep single line breaks, as GitHub comments do. For HTML, tick Run scripts to let its JavaScript run. Load external resources allows images, styles and fonts from other sites. Copy HTML copies the rendered HTML, and Download .html saves it as a page.
Example
Choose Markdown and paste this:
# Shopping
- [x] Bread
- [ ] Milk
| Item | Qty |
|------|----:|
| Eggs | 12 |
~~Butter~~
The preview shows a heading, a task list with Bread ticked, a table with the quantity right-aligned, and Butter struck through.
Good to know
The preview is sandboxed: scripts don’t run unless you allow them, and even then they can’t reach this page. Links open in a new tab. Other sites may render Markdown slightly differently.
