Photo Collage

Combine two to nine pictures into one image in a grid, rows, columns or one big picture with small ones beside it, with the gap, rounded corners, background colour and size you choose.

About this tool What it's for, how to use it and an example

What it's for

Join several pictures into one image, laid out in a grid, in rows or columns, or with one large picture and the rest small beside it, with space between them, rounded corners and a background colour.

For example, when you want one picture of a recipe’s steps or a trip’s best moments to post as a single image, add the photos, pick Grid and Square, and save it as a JPEG.

How to use it

Choose two to nine pictures (or drop them on the page); you can add more later. They fill the layout in the order of the list. To change the order, drag one picture onto another in the collage to swap them, or use the arrows beside each picture in the list, which work from the keyboard.

Layout is the arrangement. Picture in its cell either crops each picture to fill its place or shows all of it with the background around it. Shape and Width give the size of the saved picture. Gap is the space between pictures and round the edge, and Rounded corners rounds each picture; both are a share of the width so the collage looks the same at any size. Save as PNG or Save as JPEG saves it at the full width. The settings, but not the pictures, are remembered.

Example

Add four photos, then set:

Layout: Grid · Shape: Square · Width: 1200 · Gap: 2 · Rounded corners: 3 · Background: #ffffff

You get a 1200 × 1200 picture with the photos in two rows of two, each with slightly rounded corners and a thin white gap.

Good to know

The most is nine pictures; extra ones are left out. The grid keeps the pictures in the list’s order, so a short last row is stretched to fill its width. Animated pictures use their first frame. The width stops at 8,000 pixels, and a browser may refuse a very large canvas, in which case try a smaller width. Metadata in the original pictures (camera details, location) isn’t kept. Nothing leaves your browser.
